My Favorite Scriptures:

Acts 3:6 "Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk".

Jesus is a God of miracles. When he walked the earth he had power to heal crippled bodies, but also crippled minds and souls. He continues to do it today. The priesthood authority and power that he bestowed upon his apostles to heal and to cast out devils and to minister in sacred things has been restored to the earth, to a current prophet and 12 apostles. I have seen that priesthood power bless people with my own eyes, and in my own life. And It is more precious than silver or gold.

"Be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you, with meekness."

The reason for my hope is Jesus Christ, the son of God; that he is our Redeemer, and that God is our Father. They provided a plan of salvation for each of us to progress to become like them. Jesus atoned for our sins and rose from the dead on the third day with a glorified, resurrected body and promises we can overcome sin and death, and become glorified beings in the eternities, heirs to all the Father has, with our families, forever. This hope and the confirmation of these truths through the Holy Ghost is what gives me direction and peace.

2 Nephi 2:11-13 "For it must needs be that there is an opposition in all things. If not so, righteousness could not be brought to pass, neither wickedness, neither holiness nor misery, neither good nor bad. Wherefore, all, things must needs be a compound in one; ...it must needs have been created for a thing of naught; wherefore there would have been no purpose in the end of its creation...and this thing would destroy the wisdom of God and his eternal purposes, and also the power, and the mercy, and the justice of God."

2 Nephi 2:24 "Behold, all things have been done in the wisdom of him who knoweth all things."

2 Nephi 4:15, 16 "For my soul delighteth in the scriptures, and my heart pondereth them, and writeth them for the learning and the profit of my children. Behold, my soul delighteth in the things of the Lord; and my heart pondereth continually upon the things which I have seen and heard."

 Jacob 3:1-2 "I speak unto you that are pure in heart. Look unto God which firmness of mind, and pray unto him with exceeding faith, and he will console you in your afflictions, and he will plead your cause...O all ye that are pure in heart, lift up your heads and receive the pleasing word of God, and feast upon his love; for ye may, if your minds are firm, forever."

Jacob 4:10 "Seek not to counsel the Lord, but to take counsel from his hand...for he counseleth in wisdom, and in justice, and in great mercy over all his works."

Jacob 4:13 “For the Spirit speaketh the truth and lieth not. Wherefore it speaketh of things as they really are, and of things as they really will be, wherefore, these things are manifested unto us plainly, for the salvation of our souls.” 

“2 Ne 31:5 “...if ye receive the Holy Ghost, it will show unto you all things what ye should do.” 

“...but the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness unto him; neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”

D&C 25:13-15 "Wherefore lift up thy head and rejoice, and cleave unto the covenants which thou hast made. Continue in the spirit of meekness, and beware of pride...Keep my commandments continually, and a crown of righteousness thou shalt receive."
